Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Our OxyHealth Vitaris 320 Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber is a medical grade device that provides the body oxygen therapy in a pressurized environment. Using oxygen under pressure allows the blood and plasma oxygen levels to increase – which helps stimulate the healing response by providing more oxygen to our cells. When cells receive more oxygen, they can create more energy, regenerate, and strengthen – which is why we see many health conditions improve with hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Our hyperbaric chamber utilizes 1.3 ATA, which is different than the hyperbaric chambers you will see utilized in hospitals. Hospitals use higher pressure chambers to treat conditions like air/gas embolisms, bone infections, severe burns, CO poisoning, and other severe/acute health concerns. Our chamber is best utilized for many of the ‘off label’ hyperbaric uses – in fact, studies show 1.3 ATA is the preferred pressure for concerns like neurocognitive issues. See a list of other common ‘off label’ uses below.

Common "Off-Label" Uses for mHBOT

We are proud to offer some of the lowest industry prices for mHBOT – we feel this treatment is so helpful, we want as many as possible to be able to use it.

HBOT Assessment

If you are not a current functional medicine patient that has been evaluated by our ARNP, we do require you to meet with our ARNP once before you can begin treatment. This is to assess safety before beginning treatments and discuss anticipated treatment needs.

If you have a prescription for hbot from another provider, you may skip this consultation.

Free 30-minute Test Dive

After your assessment is complete and you are eligible for hbot, we offer a one-time free 30-minute test session. We feel this is an important step to get you used to the chamber & the process, gauge your tolerance, and make sure you are able to enter and exit the chamber without issues.

You cannot book this appointment online - you must first pass the hbot assessment before we will allow you to schedule.

Individual Sessions

60 minute session: $100
90 minute session: $150

You are welcome to pay for each session individually, however, most patients with chronic issues require 10-40 sessions. Individual sessions are most often used by those seeking general wellness or have acute concerns.

Package Options

5 hours: $450
10 hours: $800
20 hours: $1400
40 hours: $2400

Our packages are built by hours, not by number of sessions. This allows you to use 60 or 90 minute sessions. For most, we do recommend 60 minute sessions.

Insurance will not cover hyperbaric oxygen treatments unless being used for the FDA indicated conditions, which are not treated with our chamber. For this reason, we do not accept or bill insurance. Payment is due at time of service – we accept all major credit cards, flex, and HSA accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

How many sessions will I need?

IEach individual and their health needs will respond uniquely. However, as a general guide: 1-5 sessions are help with general wellness (improved cellular energy, decreased inflammation, stimulating healing); 5-10 sessions for acute injuries and pain; 10-20 sessions for more severe acute issues/injuries; 20-40 sessions for any condition with major tissue damage and chronic illnesses.

Are there any contraindications?

Yes, there are a few. Absolute contraindications include: untreated pneumothorax and certain mediaction use (Bleomycin, Disulfiram Cisplatin, Mafenide, or Doxorubicin). There are several other relative contraindications, but each can be assessed on an individual basis.

What is the process like?

To begin the session, you will be asked to step inside the chamber and sit/lie down. The attendant will then close the chamber. The chamber will begin to inflate and fill with air. Once the chamber is fully inflated, the pressurization will begin. During pressurization, you will feel pressure inside your ears and you will want to yawn, swallow, or clear your ears.
Once the chamber is fully pressurized, your session will last 60
minutes, unless you need to stop the session sooner. At the end of the session, the chamber will need to depressurize. At this time, the
attendant will begin to slowly deflate the chamber. Once fully depressurized, the attendant will unzip the chamber and you will be allowed to exit.

Will I know what to do?

Yes. We will fully prepare you for what to expect before you enter the chamber. If you have questions or concerns while in the chamber, you will be able to communicate with staff via walkie-talkie.

Are there any side effects?

Hyperbaric oxygen has a great safety profile, but there is potential for side effects. Some of these include: otic barotrauma, detox symptoms, increased or decreased effectiveness of medications (dosages may need adjusted), low blood sugar in diabetics, and temporary headaches, nausea, drowsiness, hyperactivity, dizziness, blurred vision, and claustrophobia.

Can children use the chamber?

Yes. We do require children under the age of 12, or children who do not have the mental capacity to comply with instructions, to have a parent/caregiver accompany the child. The parent/caregiver who will use the chamber alongside the child will have to undergo the same approval process before using hbot.
